Draw it. Memorise it. Know it. Understand it. Moving up the employee value curve is the only way to truly advance.
Adding value is nothing to do with being promoted, it is about finding ways to make yourself, your team and your organisation more efficient, more effective, to reduce cost or eliminate risk. In other words, finding ways to add value. Consider this: if you were promoted without increasing the value you generate for your employer, your net employee value will actually have gone down. That is hardly the fast track to the C-suite.
