The Handy Man is an action orientated problem solver who is very skilled with their hands. As a very rational and logical thinker they are good at finding practical solutions to solve problems. This approach means they love understanding the way things work. Also, they are adaptable and  have good technical skills with manual equipment and tools. They can be quiet and prefer working on their own as they prefer finding their own way of doing things.

At work they enjoy using their technical expertise, quite often with manual tools associated with trades. They really like tangible work with physical concrete results.  As they enjoy this physical element to work this means they often like active work out doors. The action at work energises and motivates them. Within this they enjoy the troubleshooting elements where they can problem solve while working.

In a team they tend to look beyond other people in the group and focus on the work itself and what they can bring to the task with immediate effect. They rarely look for plaudits but just want to get on with the work at hand. This means they provide a lot of quiet energy, moving projects along by getting tasks completed.  Their logical analysis also provides efficiency to processes and they find quicker and easier ways to move things forward.

As leaders they tend to be hands off and let their reports figure things out for themselves and will only want to see the actual results of their work. Their management style is that they prefer to lead teams on projects moving things along efficiently and mucking in to the achieve the final result. Another aspect of project management they love is solving problems and managing crisis’ as they come along.

Their action orientated nature and introvert personality means that they can often want to do things themselves rather than delegate and explain what is required. At their best they are leaders who lead by example and deliver work in a fast-efficient manner.
