Responsibilities and Duties
As the Bookkeeper & Office Administrator, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing day-to-day bookkeeping activities and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Processing payroll accurately, including pension compliance requirements.
- Transferring and processing employee timesheet information within payroll systems.
- Managing accounts payable, reconciling supplier accounts and maintaining vendor records.
- Monitoring accounts receivable, issuing invoices and following up on outstanding payments.
- Producing month-end statements and assisting with routine financial administration.
- Supporting office administration activities, including customer and colleague communications by telephone, email and in person.
- Operating and supporting POS systems, card payment processing and related administrative functions.
Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a bookkeeping position.
- At least 2 years’ experience using QuickBooks.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- At least 2 years’ experience in an administrative or office-based role.
- A minimum of 2 years’ payroll experience, including pension compliance.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
- A valid driving licence and a high school diploma or equivalent qualification. Marine industry knowledge would be advantageous but is not essential.
