We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a meticulous and proactive Accounts Payable Officer to join their finance team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting and a passion for accuracy and process improvement. You will be responsible for managing the accounts payable function, ensuring timely payments, reconciliations, and compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Responsibilities and Duties
As the Accounts Payable Officer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Performing daily accounts payable tasks in line with financial policies and statutory requirements
- Verifying and processing vendor invoices, bills, and statements
- Preparing payments and cheques with supporting documentation for authorisation
- Reconciling supplier accounts and maintaining accurate records in QuickBooks
- Assisting with payroll preparation and reconciliation of insurance and pension payments
- Generating financial reports and statements detailing accounts payable status
- Supporting inventory management and maintaining the Fixed Asset Register
- Coordinating procurement and school orders across departments
Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A degree, diploma, or recognised qualification in Finance or Accounting
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar accounts payable role
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Understanding of general accounting principles and practices
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards
