As a Business Banking Officer, your key responsibilities will include:- Managing a portfolio of small business clients with a focus on retention and growth.
- Handling account openings, loan closings, referrals, and customer follow-ups.
- Conducting relationship reviews and financial assessments.
- Providing strategic financial advice to help clients succeed.
- Identifying new business opportunities through multiple channels.
- Authorising, renewing, or declining customer requests within policy limits.
- Ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Escalating and resolving any material changes or compliance issues.
Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you should have:- An undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, or a related field.
- At least 3 years’ experience in KYC, compliance, and financial statement analysis.
- A solid understanding of small business structures and life cycles.
- Knowledge of small business banking products and services.
- Familiarity with legal and security documentation for financial products.
- Strong risk management awareness and decision-making skills.
- Advanced interviewing and business development techniques.
- A detail-oriented approach with flexibility and a customer-first mindset.
