Job Summary
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for the role of Deputy Clerk of Court (Criminal). This position involves the general administration of the Criminal Registries of the Grand Court and the Summary Court, ensuring the smooth running of criminal trials and the management of Registry staff.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage the administration of the Criminal Registries of the Grand Court and Summary Court.
- Ensure accurate records of court proceedings are maintained
- Supervise the Bailiffs in the execution of warrants and recovery of funds.
- Direct and supervise Registry Clerks to ensure the smooth running of criminal trials.
- Sign criminal charges, warrants, affidavits, and other legal documents as an ex officio Justice of Peace.
- Implement training initiatives for Criminal division personnel
- Liaise with various agencies such as the Director of Public Prosecutions, RCIPS, and Department of Immigration.
- Oversee the operations of specialty courts including Drug Rehabilitation Court, Mental Health Court, and Domestic Violence Court.
- Qualified attorney with a minimum of seven years' experience in the Cayman Islands.
- Minimum of five years' managerial experience.
- At least six years' litigation experience in civil or criminal divisions of the court.
- Strong background in legal research.
- High level of legal, organisational, and staff management skills.
- Ability to lead with vision, articulate priorities, and manage effectively.
- General knowledge of legal principles surrounding decision making in a public law setting.
