We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Legal Secretary to join a highly regarded professional services firm in the Cayman Islands. This is a busy and varied position supporting a team of legal professionals, requiring strong organisational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and extensive knowledge of Cayman Islands court procedures. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing legal documentation, court filings, billing processes, matter administration, and client support while contributing to the smooth operation of a high-performing legal team.

Responsibilities and Duties
As the Legal Secretary, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing, reviewing, and filing court documents in accordance with Cayman Islands court requirements and procedures.
- Creating and managing both physical and electronic court bundles.
- Supporting attorneys and partners with day-to-day administrative and secretarial tasks.
- Managing client and partner billing processes, including time entry coordination and invoice preparation.
- Opening new matters and maintaining accurate records within the firm's practice management systems.
- Creating, updating, and organising files within iManage and ensuring all matter information remains current.
- Preparing and coordinating WORC applications for visiting King's Counsel, witnesses, and clients where required.
- Assisting with practising certificate applications and related regulatory requirements for legal professionals.
- Supporting the onboarding and development of junior administrative staff and providing training where appropriate.
Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A minimum of 5 years' legal secretarial experience, ideally within a Cayman Islands law firm or similar legal environment.
- Strong knowledge of Cayman Islands court filing requirements, procedures, and documentation standards.
- Proven experience preparing and coordinating court bundles, both electronically and in hard copy.
- Experience with legal billing, time recording, and matter management processes.
- Proficiency using iManage and other legal document management systems.
- Familiarity with WORC applications, legal immigration processes, and practising certificate applications.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and multitasking abilities, with strong attention to detail.
- A valid driver's licence and the ability to drive independently.
- Previous experience mentoring or training junior team members would be advantageous.
- Exposure to AI-powered legal technology or workflow tools would be considered a plus.
