Responsibilities and Duties
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
- Interview prospective customers and identify suitable banking and lending solutions.
- Assess loan applications through detailed analysis of financial information, credit reports, collateral, and repayment capacity.
- Prepare credit applications and lending recommendations in line with lending policies and procedures.
- Develop mortgage and lending models using Microsoft Excel.
- Ensure lending documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant before approval and funding.
- Manage loan renewals, overdrafts, and lines of credit.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate lending activities and timely loan processing.
Qualifications and Skills
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in lending, sales, banking operations, or credit administration.
- Understanding of loan products, credit assessment, and risk management principles.
- Strong customer service, relationship management, and business development skills.
- Ability to analyse financial information and make informed lending recommendations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience using banking software systems.
- Professional banking qualifications and experience in consumer, mortgage, commercial, or SME lending would be advantageous.
