Responsibilities and Duties

As the Senior Risk Officer, you will:

  • Support the development, implementation, and enhancement of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
  • Maintain and administer the organisation's risk register, key risk indicators (KRIs), and control framework.
  • Partner with senior leadership and business units to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate operational and strategic risks.
  • Develop, review, and update risk-related policies, procedures, and governance documentation.
  • Monitor policy review cycles and provide reporting to senior committees and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare management information, risk reports, dashboards, and analysis to support decision-making.
  • Act as a key liaison between internal auditors and business functions, supporting audit activities and remediation efforts.
  • Promote a strong risk culture through training, guidance, business continuity planning, incident management, and risk awareness initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related discipline, or significant equivalent experience within risk management.
  • At least 5 years' experience in risk management, compliance, governance, or a related regulatory function within financial services.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise risk management frameworks, controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and translate it into practical business solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to senior stakeholders and committees.
  • Proven organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to collaborate across departments and stakeholder groups.

In return, you will benefit from:

  • The opportunity to work with an established and respected financial services organisation.

  • A collaborative and supportive professional environment.
  • Ongoing professional development and career progression opportunities.
  • Involvement in enterprise-wide risk, governance, and regulatory projects.
