We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a proactive and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support their Cayman-based operations. In this role, you will provide hands on financial and accounting support, working closely with both the local Controller and the finance team at the company’s U.S. headquarters. Responsibilities and Duties
As the Staff Accountant, you will:
- Perform general accounting duties including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Support treasury functions, including cash management and bank reconciliations.
- Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and collections.
- Participate actively in month-end closing activities to meet deadlines established by the parent company.
- Prepare financial reports and data required for corporate consolidation.
- Conduct financial analysis to support process improvements and cost efficiencies.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and funding requests.
- Support audit activities and ensure compliance with internal controls.
Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this role, you should bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or close to completion).
- Minimum 3 years’ accounting experience, including work within a multinational company or a recognised public accounting firm.
- Knowledge of IFRS and/or U.S. GAAP.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- High levels of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
- (Preferred) Experience with U.S. headquartered organisations.
- (Preferred) Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with the logistics or maritime industries.
