Responsibilities and Duties
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting a range of finance operations, including:- Processing accounts payable transactions, ensuring invoices are verified, coded, and processed accurately
- Handling accounts receivable activities, including raising invoices, processing payments, and issuing receipts
- Generating and managing purchase orders in line with procurement procedures
- Responding to queries from vendors, stakeholders, and internal teams regarding invoices and payments
- Monitoring outstanding invoices and supporting debt collection processes where required
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring proper documentation flow within the finance team
- Assisting with payroll-related transactions, petty cash, and other financial duties
- Supporting the wider finance team with administrative and ad hoc tasks as needed
Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate the following:- A high school diploma with at least five GCSEs (or equivalent), including Mathematics and English
- 3–5 years’ experience in a finance or accounts-related role
- Strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Experience using accounting systems, databases, and Microsoft Excel
- Good understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial processes
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage queries professionally
- Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of tasks within tight deadlines
- A proactive approach with strong organisational and problem-solving skills
