We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Storeroom Clerk to support day-to-day inventory and stock management operations within a fast-paced hospitality environment. Responsibilities and Duties
As a Storeroom Clerk, you will play a key role in receiving, organising, and distributing inventory across departments. Your responsibilities will include:
- Receiving deliveries, inspecting goods, and ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards
- Storing and organising stock, including perishables, using appropriate handling and rotation methods (e.g. FIFO)
- Issuing stock to departments and completing requisition forms accurately
- Monitoring stock levels and reporting low inventory to supervisors in a timely manner
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of storerooms, refrigerators, and freezers
- Tracking inventory levels, expiry dates, and conducting regular stock counts
- Ensuring adherence to food safety, hygiene, and health & safety policies
- Identifying and reporting damaged, incorrect, or unsafe items and maintaining accurate records
Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate the following:
- Previous experience in storeroom, warehouse, or inventory control(hospitality experience desirable)
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and moving goods (up to 50 lbs)
- Basic understanding of stock control systems and inventory management processes
- Knowledge of food safety standards and stock rotation practices
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism
