Job Summary

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Storeroom Clerk to support day-to-day inventory and stock management operations within a fast-paced hospitality environment. This temporary opportunity is ideal for someone organised, detail-oriented, and confident in handling goods, stock control, and warehouse processes, while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Responsibilities and Duties

As a Storeroom Clerk, you will play a key role in receiving, organising, and distributing inventory across departments. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Receiving deliveries, inspecting goods, and ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards
  • Storing and organising stock, including perishables, using appropriate handling and rotation methods (e.g. FIFO)
  • Issuing stock to departments and completing requisition forms accurately
  • Monitoring stock levels and reporting low inventory to supervisors in a timely manner
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of storerooms, refrigerators, and freezers
  • Tracking inventory levels, expiry dates, and conducting regular stock counts
  • Ensuring adherence to food safety, hygiene, and health & safety policies
  • Identifying and reporting damaged, incorrect, or unsafe items and maintaining accurate records


Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate the following:

  • Previous experience in storeroom, warehouse, or inventory control(hospitality experience desirable)
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and moving goods (up to 50 lbs)
  • Basic understanding of stock control systems and inventory management processes
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and stock rotation practices
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism
